TWS are able to supply software at extremely competitive prices and the information below is intended to help you decide what you need. The information is in general terms only and is not intended to be a definitive guide. All software supplied is sourced through the most reputable distributors and is sold as Retail Boxed Product or OEM(see below for more information).

Software falls into two main categories. These are Operating System and Programs

All Windows PCs require an Operating System, sometimes referred to as an OS. If you buy a computer currently it will be pre-installed with Microsoft™ Windows 7™ or Vista. The OS is therefore referred to as OEM.

If you wish to upgrade a PC running an OS prior to Windows 7™ or Vista, the PC may well require hardware upgrades in order to be able to run the OS and the programs you want to install.

Programs are installed after the OS and sometimes will be pre-installed by the original equipment manufacturer. If so the software program is referred to as OEM. An example of this is when Microsoft™ Office™ is purchased with the PC.

Software will often be available as a suite of programs as is the case with Microsoft™ Office™ and programs from Adobe™. The suites are comprised of different programs dependent on the version of the suite i.e. Standard, Professional and Small Business versions of Microsoft™ Office™ are available.

Upgrade options are available for many software programs providing previously licensed versions are owned.

TWS will be abe to supply OEM software for the OS and programs only when upgrading a PC, or when supplying a custom built PC as there are very strict guidelines that govern when OEM software can be supplied.
